Yoga can help guide us through the turbulence of modern life. My personal teaching approach is gentle and calm with a goal of mindfulness to promote relaxation, reduce stress and enhance flexibility and balance.

Restorative

A gentle, therapeutic practice designed to relax your body, mind and spirit. Unlike more vigorous styles of yoga, restorative yoga focuses on deep relaxation and healing through slow, supported poses and mindful breathing. Props such as bolsters, blocks and straps are used, and poses are held for up to 12 minutes.

Yin

A slow-paced, meditative style of yoga that emphasizes deep stretching and the release of connective tissues such as ligaments, tendons, and fascia. Unlike more active styles of yoga, Yin involves holding poses for typically 2 to 5 minutes, to facilitate deep relaxation and increased flexibility.

Hatha

A traditional style of yoga that emphasizes the practice of physical postures (asanas) and breath control (pranayama). It’s often considered a foundational practice for many other yoga styles and is known for its balanced approach to building strength, flexibility, and mental focus. These are slow, gentle movements.

Vinyasa

A dynamic and fluid practice that emphasizes the seamless integration of breath and movement. In this style of yoga, practitioners move through a series of poses in a continuous, flowing sequence, often coordinated with the rhythm of the breath.
